Rogers R-360

Loading...

Hello,

One of my bandmates scored an old (and in need of some work) set of R-360's from her school where she teaches. If someone could help me fill in the blanks on these (and confirm if I am right or tell me I am wrong), I would appreciate it.

I understand that these were Rogers drums made by Yamaha in Japan.

They were from the late 60's/Early 70's.

It is a 3 piece kit (no snare), with a cymbal holder and rail mount with a "thumb" tom arm that slides into the bracket on the rack tom.

They are like a mint green oyster (ripple?) color. I don't have the drums, so no pictures. I'll see if I can get some next week. The interiors are painted gray.

These were considered good quality drums.

Please confirm and/or educate me if need be.

Thanks!

V

Those drums are certainly increasing in popularity/ value and equal anything being made at that time, quality wise. And I'd even say they may exceed the value of some Big R sets, especially concert tom sets.

The early ones:

I don't know about a mint green ripple. I do know that a bit later on there was a different R360, but there isn't much info on this site. Just a brief catalog:

Opinions vary about these from Asian Firewood to Nice. I go with Nice myself.
