Rogers "tall" Hoops

Loading...

I'm trying to obtain some information regarding Rogers' so-called "Tall" hoops.

From what I've researched, the company started using these in the early 60s, then reverted back to "standard-height" hoops, once beavertail lugs became "factory-issued" on Rogers' kits.

However, I've seen early 60s kits without the tall hoops and I've seen late 60s kits with them. I have no idea whether these hoops were factory-issued or switched out by the respective owners of the kits.

Did the company factory-issue the tall hoops on ALL (i.e., snares and toms) Rogers' drums in the early 60s, then discontinue them on ALL drums, once beavertail lugs came into use?

Are there actually definitive answers to my questions regarding this issue?

As usual, THANKS in advance for your input!

Hi there,

I have a Dynasonic I'm restoring and it is a UK 7 line version, it has the tall hoops and Beavertail lugs. As I understand it this is termed a transition model made from the early to mid 60's.......but not 100% on this, there are people out there who know far more about Rogers gear than me.

Cheers,

Guy
