Rogers Metal Powertone Snare

Loading...

A few easy ones for the Rogers "experts" out there:

Were all Rogers metal Powertones made in the 1960s Chrome over Brass?

Also, would $150 be a fair price to pay for a 60s Powertone in really nice shape?

THANKS in advance for your help!

Price sound within reason if the shell is in good shape. I believe the only steel shells were the Yamaha contracted 360 and 380 series and the Superten later in the 70's.

Someone that knows Rogers will be better able to answer your question but I did look through my Rogers Catalogs and came up with this.

In 1964 the Powertone Metal Shell info. didn't specify the Shell material but both the 1967 & 1970 Catalogs called out Chrome over Brass. I didn't look further than 1970 since that gets out of the time frame you mentioned.....

I think the answer is yes to both of your questions.
