Rogers fans rejoice! It's a Holiday holiday!

Tell me about it! My first kit was a 62 Slingerland Krupa in Blue Sparkle. Got it from the neighbor down the street in exchange for mowing his lawn all summer, complete with the full set of Zildjians.

Traded the drums in for a Pearl Forum when I was in 9th grade or so. Sold those off a few years after and eventually ended up with a Ludwig Centennial for a long time.

Randomly on CL, I stumbled across the first kit's slightly younger brother (63 Blue Sparkle Krupa kit) and managed a deal. The only difference between my first Slingerlands and my current kit beyond the year is that the first one had a matching wood snare and this one has the COB snare with it.

Thanks again for the comments and related stories everyone.

I finished cleaning up the Powertone and it looks pretty amazing I think. I was able to bring it back with very little effort. High quality chrome makes all the difference. I am really starting to feel the Rogers mojo. Oh, and I have learned that these lugs are "beavertail" lugs not "bread and butter." Even though I went to Oregon State (Go Beavers!) they really need to be called "toaster" lugs because they look a lot more like a toaster than a beaver to me.
