Rogers Entry Level at a Great Price

Loading...

Only $50 to ship! Great Londoner set with a PowerTone to boot (different color, but hey....). What a way to enter the Rogers vintage club. Once again, too bad I don't need a set.

Looks like a good deal. What years were these drums made?

Very nice set priced right. A shame it's a 20" bass drum. I emailed them the correct sizes.

Difficult to know with certainty without a peek at the tags and interiors, but I see only machined collet noses, so 1971 or older. Could be Dayton tags, but I would imagine they are Fullerton.

The description made me crack up. "All drums and features have been fully inspected and play tested by our in-house guitar staff." And then they go on to quote incorrect sizes for every drum. Doesn't instill much confidence in the inspection and play testing.

Looks like a great deal though. It would be especially nice if they included stands are all Rogers but since they didn't show them, they probably are not.

It's Sam Ash, which, like GC, hires kids with little knowledge of drums. Most of these big box stores don't even have salespeople working in their drum departments anymore.

Oh, I know. I'm old enough to remember music and drum stores in Atlanta where there were actually employees who knew about the products they were selling. These were the rule, not the exception. Now it is the opposite.

The big box music stores started out bad, think Mars Music, and have only gone down hill from there. I haven't bothered to go to a Guitar Center whenever I was in a town that had one for years.

I never go into a GC unless: A) I'm driving by one and have a few minutes to spare, and B) I'm on a gig and forgot something, or something broke and a GC is a few miles away.

Otherwise, GC is off limits for me. No interest, in fact, if they go under, I'll celebrate.
