I believe the house studio kits, for both Motown and Stax, were Rogers with Ludwig snare drums. So, Rogers were on a lot more rock n roll records than one might think.

Rogers early Fullerton Blue Strata 22,13,16 w/brass Dynasonic
My first kit, 1983 Ludwig Rocker? (it has the classic lugs and 4ply maple shell) 22,12,13,16 ..now in black oyster pearl. I still have it
Stop Sign USA Gretsch (80's), black nitron jasper shell 22,12,13,16
1995 Fibes Austin,Texas Badge (original owner) 22,10,12,16,18 in natural wood
USA 2007 Rosewood Gretsch 22,13,16 w/12inch 70's Rosewood Gretsch tom

Another thing to note is that before they were bought by CBS Rogers was a small company operating in Ohio away from the major music business centers and PR firms on either coast.

As pointed out, they put their money into R&D, not marketing.

Obviously a big mistake, which doesn't make much sense. I mean, their biggest competitors were Ludwig, Slingerland and Gretsch, all American companies, one would think they would had focused more on marketing.

Good point. I know Earl Young, the in house drummer for Philadlephia International Records, played and still plays a Rogers. Anything by Spinners, Stylistics, O'Jays you're most likely hearing a Rogers kit..

I looked up his video and he says the kit he's using and has owned for 45 years is a Rogers, but it has Fibes lugs. Anyone know anything about this?

Great grooves from Earl Young. I love TSOP jams. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'd say those are Fibes drums with Rogers Swivo hardware.

The toms look too deep to be 60's era as well. (The video was posted in 2010 and he says they're 40 yrs old)
