I've been told of a guy in TX that produces a remake of the snare frame used on the Rogers Dynasonic snare drum. My source couldn't remember his name, but says he's kind of cult famous. Does anyone know who this cat (in TX) is ? and if so how to get in touch with him ? I'll do the work, just need someone to point me in the right direction with a name or google search or anything that my be a clue. I know about the 70's style frames available on ebay from Al Drew in RI., but I'm looking for the older (version 1) style frame as well as the guard piece that attaches to the butt side of res hoop. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks much.
The frame that The Ploughman referred you to is probably the type of frame you need unless your Dyna has a serial number below about 3000. Then you may need even an earlier one than that shown in the Ebay listing.
Jim Petty at JP2 Creations is probably who you are thinking about. He has an excellent reputation for having aftermarket drum parts.
I have after-market "snare guards"(or "snare gates") you may be looking for. These are the small, metal brackets(butt side is plain, tensioner side has a half-circle cutout) that screw onto the bottom hoop. Check out my web site to see if it is what you are looking for:

You can contact me via the email address at the bottom of the page for more info if you need this part. (be sure to copy the URL above exactly. no "www".) Also, I occasionally put some up on Ebay for sale. Have fun.
