You might want to look more carefully...I see them all the time. My Dyna was the snare of choice in the studio I worked in Chicago for seven years. The engineers loved the power sound on rock and blues and the producers of big band vocal recordings requested me and my Dyna....hmmmm go figureHmmmm

I don't know much about big bands or vocals - I avoid them both like the plague. I hate the sound of that music so it wouldn't make a difference what kind of snare drum was used in that setting, I guess.

I understand the passion over Dynas, though. Like I say...for YEARS I couldn't allow myself to believe that the lowly Supra or Acrolite snare drums could be superior to my Dynasonic. And I am fairly certain that I must have gotten my Dynasonic "dialed in" as prescribed at least once or twice over the course of nearly twenty tears of touring with bands. I just ended up telling myself that it was great and I went on accepting it. Ultimately, I faced the truth. I'm not trying to convert anyone. I just know what I know for ME. But, yeah...big band vocals -the Dyna is probably a great drum for that. It's just not my area of interest when it comes to drumming, so I can't really comment on what is considered a desirable snare drum sound in that genre. I defer to your expertise in this regard.
