Rogers Drums

I'm thinking about buying this Rogers kit in a silver glass glitter finish. The wrap is original, but the floor is a converted Rogers parade drum. He wants $400 plus a my b/o badge 5x14 supra. I think it's a good deal.

$400, and you KEEP the Supra is about right. Those drums will require a few hundred bucks in parts to make them (almost) right.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

What parts would I need? I have no intention to do anything but play them. You really don't think it's worth at least $500.

Ordinarily, I'd say any 3-piece Rogers set in good condition was worth at least $400, but too many mods greatly devalue this kit:

1. Rewrap. Finish does not appear to be original Rogers glass glitter.

2. Non-rogers batter hoops on the toms (no big deal), but the 8x12 appears to have been redrilled for a non-Rogers mount.

3. That's a single-tensioned Mercury model bass, not a Tower. I've never been happy with single-tensioning. It seems you can get either the batter or the reso head to be in tune, but not both.

Just my :2Cents:, but I'd pass even for a player's kit.

This was posted before I could respond as to why I don't think the drums are not worth what the seller is asking. I agree completely with this comment.
