Rogers Dayton Holiday Last viewed: 3 hours ago

I just picked up this Rogers Dayton era Holiday kit. Traded a Gretsch Catalina jazz kit, a Ludwig satinwood snare and $50. The extra 12" tom doesn't have a tag. Someone added a double tom holder and the double tom arm. I just removed one of the arms and put it in the original single tom holder and it works fine. Now I need to find an L-arm.

8x12, 9x13, 16x16, 14x20

Just curious, I know you're always looking for a kit with a 22" bass drum, but always seem to trade for a kit with a 20" bass drum, why?

That's a good question. I traded for this one because I've always liked Rogers 20" kicks and I figured if i ever want to trade again for a kit with a 22" kick, this would be better trade bait than the Trixon. This is what you do when you can have no more than two kits at a time. I have my Kent with a 22" kick for rehearsal and the occasional gig and this will be my main one for gigging. Btw, I took the Kent out for the first time at a patio gig last week and they sounded fantastic.

Because when you are talking Cleveland and Dayton era rogers 22 kicks are much more uncommon.

Rogers 20" kicks punch way above their weight, they are really strong

good sounding kicks.

Nice kit,and at least the mods are Rogers mods. You can't do much better than that for a vintage player gigger kit IMO.

Sounds like it was very fair trade for both parties, but I still would have had trouble parting with that satin wood snare, couldn't you have just offered him 3 acrolites?

I could have, if I had three acrolites.Laughing HI wanted to trade the Pork Pie snare, but he gave me more trade in value for the satinwood. It's ok though, at least I know where it is. Jump For Joy

Rogers bass drums, if tuned right and the proper head selection, play about one size larger. A 20" Rogers bass drum is a great all purpose drum.

Hope Johnnyringo gets a crack at a Cleveland 22". They are fantastic drums.

I've had a 22 although it was also a Dayton, great drum, but I can live with the 20, never had any problems with the others I've owned.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
