See, because it has single-point thru-lugs which tighten top and bottom heads equally, it doesn't have a high value. These were the 'student" sorta snares back in the '50's.
But it looks like it's in very good shape. And if the throwoff and butt are in good shape and the hoops aren't cracked, and there's no problem with the shell (gouges, nicks, etc.) it is worth probably about $75-100 on eBay.
People always pass these over...BUT...I snap 'em up all the time becaause their shells and throwoffs are vintage Rogers, just as good as any later Rogers Cleveland shell (and Rogers Cleveland shells are awesome).
And if you just by some new single-point replacement lugs for it (Ego brand or similar) you can upgrade the drum to make it perform normally, with 2 independently tunable heads...without having to drill any extra holes to replace the lugs. Those sorta new lugs also maintain the original aesthetic of the drum.
Then you have to decide whether you stick with the original single-flange hoops, and get 6 replacemet claws, or go with standard hoops with holes and remove the original hoops.
I have 3 of these shells kickin' around here right now. Always use 'em.
$75 would be a fair offer to make or a middle-road price to sell t at. Maybe $85...but if you or someone else replaces the lugs, figure that'll be another $40-50 of material cost.
But then you have a great snare for $125-135 ? That's a good pickup, in my book.[/COLOR]
