Hello anyone!
When I was 13 or 14 years old my mother and I went to a yardsale in my hometown one early Saturday morning and I came across a box of old drums a woman was selling. There was a snare drum, snare drum stand and various cymbals and parts to go along with it.
I asked her how much and she said $6 so I bought the box and took it home. Inside I discovered that the snare drum was quite old and had a Rogers badge with an eagle on it. It was in quite nice shape but had a few little bits of dust and rust so I cleaned it up.
I never used the snare much. Basically figured I didn't want to damage something so old and cool looking. I am now 28 and have kept that Rogers snare for all these years in a nomad case safe and sound.
I now play drums in a band and recently took the snare drum out of storage and tried a little research on it. the certificate inside says "Classmate" and so I looked it up and apparently it's from the 1950s sometime. Or even perhaps early 60s. I was wondering if anyone could give me an exact year it was made and possibly a rough appraisal as to its value. It's in (I would say) 85% good shape. More or less. I will post pics. Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this $6 sweet ass relic! Haha
