Rogers center post removal

Loading...

Hi all

This is my first Rogers set. In process of cleaning up and minor repair. However, I cannot seem to remove the center post inside the bass drum. I have removed the nuts from the tom holder, and the tom holder won't come off either. I have attempted to loosen the phillips head screw on the bottom of the bass drum. I turn the screw to the left and it doesn't seem to loosen enough to do anything. The post is still in there as tight as ever. This drum (24") is filthy and i want to strip it to the shell and clean it proper. What am i doing wrong? Has anyone had issues with these before? Are they made to come out?? My experience is with Slingerland, and they don't have these posts!! Thanks for any help..
