Rogers B+B Powertone Is this a Deal?

Loading...

Very interesting Powertone! Thanks for the info!

I am going to try to pick it up. Either way I think since the lugs aren't cracked it is a cool drum to put in my collection at that price. If we find out that it is actually a very rare drum later on...then thats a bonus. I won't be selling it anyway. I need a Powertone for my collection, and this seems like as good a place as any to start.

Thanks guys!

If anyone else has more info I would really appreciate it, otherwise I will send more pics when I get it.

Well, I pulled the trigger on the drum. I had the owner do the magnet test. It is definitely Brass. He said it is all original, no cracks or scuffs or anything anywhere on the drum. All original.

Ploughman, do you have any further info on what the typed in label might mean?

I will post pics when it arrives. Thanks guys!

Also...$250 with a hardshell case was the final price. Did I do good? Seems pretty fair to me.

You did good on the deal. The typed label could just indicate that it was an earlier version of the drum and they were using a blank label to type in the model before the pre printed labels, or they could of used a typed label if they ran out of the printed version. Pure speculation. I have seen the same thing with the very early paper tag dynasonics. That would throw the serial number out of the normal sequence.
