Dan,very good recall on the term "cold head" construction on these T-Rods.I think it`s time to give them their own name so we can say Bow Tie/faucet or ? They remind me of the wings of the Phenix(sp)or eagle.Phenix T-Rods maybe,lol...Any ideas on what you would call them?-this could be interesting from Rogers fans.

whorwood, yes welcome to the forum! My 68`T-rods also have that R at the top and centre of the T-rod.I`m thinking this was started in 67`but not positive.Any idea`s for a specific name for them guys?

They have been called the Big R T Rod for so many years, a lot of people think they came out in 1975 with Memriloc. I have also seen them referred to as Fullerton T Rods, although they originated during the Dayton Tag era.

Just the same as some folk think Rogers was sold to CBS in 1973 and they started using cast collet tensioners on the Swivomatic mounts. From that point on Rogers went down hill.

It wasn't, and they didn't, Truth is, they never went down hill. They were murdered.

It's simple call them D.T. Rods or if you want to get more technical call them D-F T Rods

Ploughman,great info as always...

whorwood, good ideas on naming the T-rods.I`m leaning towards calling them"Cold Head T-Rods".They weren`t developed in the Big R era or Fullerton era but passed into those eras,so something from there time period would be appropriate-Cold Head...

Yah, CBS T-rods is certainly appropriate, but since we named "faucet" or "bow tie" T-rods strictly by their appearance, I've always referred to the later T-rods as simply Rogers "flat" T-rods.

Maybe someone can set up a voting post ? I wouldn't have a clue how to do that.

There are 3 that sound appropriate:

1, flat t-ros

2, cbs t-rods

3, cold head t-rods

My vote would be (drum roll please) cold head t-rodLaughing Laughing H

Sorry had to put the drum roll in there, after all it is a drum forum !!
