Loading...

SOLD! Thanks VDF. I am selling off some select pieces to focus my collection.

Let’s start with a Rogers 5x14 COB 7 line Dynasonic in pristine condition. No issues, no dings and NO swirls from an abrasive cleaner/polish. All original (except for heads) right down to the snare cord and the black shock cords, every square head tension rod and snare frame. Serial number 9212.

I will let the pictures do the talking.

$475 for forum members plus actual shipping costs. No trades. Thank you.

PowerTone,

Do you consider it a '66 or '67? What do you have on it for heads?

Dan, I am not an expert on dating that specifically. It is a fairly high serial number for a 7 liner and I don’t have the dating guide we all use in front of me. Certainly in that ‘66-‘67 time frame with the 9xxx serial number. Pre CBS Covington drum. I do have a 6.5x14 7 liner in the 10,000 range and thought I remembered 7 line dynas going to around 11,000 but berhaps others can narrow it down a bit.

I just have an Ambassador hazy on the bottom and coated ambassador on top. Thanks for your interest.

I have an identical drum, serial number 6948, and it's a 1966. Rogers was really cranking out the COB Dynasonics, so it's very conceivable that the drum in question is also a 1966.

April 66 is the sale to CBS. Seven line drums were made well into 1967. 11000 is the cutoff for the Seven Line drum. All of these were made in Covington. At 11000 you will find a few Seven Liners over that line and a few five liners under it. Gentlemen, you have some beautiful drums. The drum at the price offered is worthy.
