I just bought an old Rogers and son snare. It is wood ,measure 14 x 7. Does anyone have any history on these drums. I see Roger snares but wonder if this is the same firm. What years was the name" Rogers and son" used. Any help will be apriciated.

That's the same company. They originally sold calf heads in the '30s. Post a picture and we can date and identify it for you.

When you create a post or edit a post look for the little paperclip. That lets you add an attachment from your hard drive and stores it on the VSD server.

The file has to be no more then 1000 pixels wide and under 97K for a.jpg

other file formats have different requirements.

You can always send me the image and I can add it.

A friend and Rogers expert says this about your drum...

Rich, 6 lug 6.5x14" mahog finish. These drums were

made around the late 1940s. The throw off design was

later used on 1950s Rogers "Monitor" model drums.

Note the change in the throw arm from the 40s popsicle

stick like one to the 50s same base with different

style arm. Early flat top bread and butter lugs will

crack if cranked. For modern use replace with tube

lugs. Call drum supply house...drummaker.com? Cool

old tub!
