It's a great overhead mic. I have a pair that I use exclusively for my drum overheads. They sound just like/slightly better than AKG C414s--you get a little more transparency in the highs, which translates into more of a "you're actually in the room with the drums right now" sound. They also sound great with acoustic guitar and marimba. For vocals, there's much better, but these will do in a pinch...
