Here is a 1970 Ludwig Supraphonic that I made into my own Black Beauty. I picked this drum up at a pawn shop for $40 and it looked really bad. I was going to have it re-chromed but couldn't find a good deal so I had it powder coated in gloss black. I bought all new hardware for it except the muffler and butt plate and everything else is brand new. The original badge was messed up so that didn't go back on it. The drum sounds really good and the powdercoat took some of the ring out of it as well. Hope you guys like it!

Howdy Robdog.

Yep, as we all surely know, not a "real" Luddy Black Beauty, but dayum if you didn't do an absolutely nice job of bringing this Puppy back to life! I can almost hear it from the Pics.

Probably wouldn't be too much of a problem finding the correct Badge if you chose (From Ebay) and having somebody (Like Jack Lawton) pop the Badge on for you.

Doubtful if this would be a deal breaker with the Badge on, or off value-wise, but it would proudly display that this IS a Ludwig. Enjoy Robdog! Mark

Hey MarkD thanks for the compliments! I really didn't put it together to make a deal breaker out of it, just for my own enjoyment is all. I'll probably end up just putting a chrome vent hole on instead of a Ludwig badge. Too much money they are wanting for a little badge. Maybe I'll do another one in black nickel down the road!!!
