My wife just told me Alan White has passed away.

He was an awesome player and seemed like a nice guy from the stuff I have seen and read.

Great drummer with Yes, taking over early on for Bill Bruford when he left to join King Crimson. Saw him live a few times and I was always amazed with how his technical precision meshed with an ever-present and heavy groove. He was an influence for sure! R.I.P.

Worked with John Lennon on Lennon's earliest solo LPs, of which I think are better than anything he did with The Beatles. Plastic Ono Band and Imagine albums are some incredible works of artistry.
