Ride mounted on Bass drum?

Hey evryone,

I wan't to mount my ride (22" or 24") with a 2 Ludwig ATLAS mounts on my 26" bass drum (where the lug is).

Because I think it kind a looks nice and it will shorter the set-up time.

Should I do this or should I leave it on a cymbal stand.

Will the weight of the Ride be to much or damage the shell after a long period of time? (It's a 3-ply Ludwig Legacy)

I play a 22" ride on the bass drum of my '58 Ludwig kit and it has never been a problem. I guess it really depends on how hard you will be hitting the cymbal.

I mount my 24" paiste 2002 ride cymbal on my 20" bass drums with no problems . you'll have no problems on your 26" bass drum.
