Revere ?

Loading...

Ive recently been doing soem reading on the Kent drums. I underatand that they were based out of New York and used 2 ply mple shells in the late 40s 50s and early to mid 60s before they outsourced their work to Japan for the luan shells.

Furthermore, Kent also made drums for Revere and Paramount. My question is this :

When did Kent make the Revere brand and what happened to that brand when Kent folded in the early 70's ?

Im seeing a few Revere kits hit eBay and they look like stencil kits to me.

Kent Revere drums are only true Kent Reveres if they have the badge that is show on the link David provided. The ones on ebay you are seeing are actually not vintage at all. Just begginner's kits.

You can tell if a Kent is a japanese drum if

1. They have reinforcement hoops

2. They have a Japanese strainer

3. Blue foil rectangular badge or sticker badge.

Of course if you aren't sure just ask the forum.
