What is the opinion on shellacing a drum wrap to save the original wrap? I have read about Clear-coat spraying and Shellacing a cracked and flaking wrap on a Peacock drum to save it. I guess it would be saving the drum from becoming a bare wood drum of little or no value right? What do you guys think?Bowing

Im certainly not a expert on this, but if I was going to clear coat something, I would take it to my body shop painter friend and have him spray it with the clear they use on the base coat clear coat these days. The clear they use these days sprays on thick like enamel, but it dries as fast a lacquer and can be sanded the next day and polished.
