It took me about an hour to get the 12” shell to look like this - not perfect yet but with some Novus, it will shine - I’m sure.

The tom is looking good! Even at 4x what you paid, I'd still take on the project! No one said a project like this will be quick. Just takes time and patience to complete. I'm encouraged by that one shell and I'm sure you are, too. Keep up the great work and post pictures along the way.

LoLoLoLo Hey I reckoned that at USD 60 for a (albeit painted) Supra snare, 4 very decent Super Classic MPM shells (12", 13", 16" and 22") with re-rings and a Speed King pedal in working condition, I could hardly go wrong. Even if it meant rewrapping - which now seems unlikely Cool1

I would have automatically re-wrapped them and wouldn't have taken on a big sanding project.

thanks mlayton, idrum4fun and jccabinets - i will post pics as the project progresses. Next will be the 13" which I hope to get to over the weekend. I'll eventually be soaring like an eagle from inhaling all that thinners :-)

Glad the thinner worked out. I suggested it because I know it is used to remove yellowing from WMP wraps.
