Anyone know what year sling made toms w/ out badges in fact they ever did? I also restored a 20 inch bass drum. There wasn't much choice in the matter wish I had before picks.
Restored sling tom w/ no badge
There were no badges on toms until around 1966.
Only bass and snare drums had badges.

Man, I wish I would have known this about 6 months ago. An antique mall close to me had a vintage rack tom and floor tom in red sparkle in awesome condition. It had the correct hardware, 'P' stamped inside both shells but no badges. It had the matching bass drum and IT had the black/gold Chicago badge on it. Learn something new everyday.
Thanks... The bass drum did not have a badge either but did have the P stamp inside.

P stamp would mean the drum was wrapped at some point. M was normally used on drums with painted or stained finishes. I guess there could be exceptions and have seen some shells with P and M stamps over each other. Either mis stamped or used in another application.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
