How olda good ol' boy is thisun', Mark? Hit seems to my simple brain I've figgered out sumpthin' 'bout these ply separated thumpers....most ovum wuz calfskinned at one time an' the glue done give up cuza the water they hadda use to re-stretchum....

Sir, do you have any idea as to the age of this particular specimen? It seems I have come to the conclusion that many of these older fellows used far too much moisture when applying a new calfskin hide to the drum, thus causing the old hide glues to weaken and thus allow the wood plies to free themselves from one another....Excitedflowerflowers2
