Hi Dr., I will eventually be resealing the interior of a Slingerland 3-Ply Artist snare of mine using some Lacquer that is the Satin-flat-non glossy type. I can't recall it's brand name just right now, but I purchased it from Drummaker.com. It's description states that it is Nitrocellulose Lacquer made specifically for Drumshells. I felt it was better to seek out the right stuff for the job, rather than use any old so-called Lacquer like the stuff made by Minwax. When I go to reseal, should I avoid spraying any Lacquer on the Shell's reinforcing rings/bearing edges, top and bottom? I want to make it look correct but I also do not want to ruin this shell as well, when it comes to it's sound. I am only going to reseal using 1 coat, just as Slingerland did back in the day.
