Replacement spring for Slingerland Tempo King Pedal

Loading...

I am looking for a replacement spring assembly for a 1960's model Slingerland Tempo King bass drum pedal. An original assembly in good condition would be ideal. However, I would be just as happy with a functional after market assembly. It appears that there may be several after market options out there, but knowing which ones will fit the pedal could require a good bit of trial and error. I've been looking on ebay but the only option so far is to bay a junk Tempo King pedal to get the spring. If anyone has any advice on how to find an adequate replacement I would greatly appreciate it.

I am pretty sure that the Pearl spring will be fine..

Pearl SP-31F, Spring for Pearl P-900

The Pearl is around the same length, (a little thicker) but it seems like there is sufficient adjustment on the Tempo King for it to work well..

Cheers

Thanks longjohn. I will look into that. I should also mention that in addition to the spring, I need the tension adjustment assembly and the triangle rod at the top of the spring.

You can buy one of several adjusting assys, DW, Pearl, Gibraltar, etc.. Whichever of these you buy you will need to enlarge (drill Out), the pedal mounting hole as the Tempo King adjuster is one of the smallest diameter around.

Gibraltar also supply a top Triangle with their spring.. I think they are sold as a two pack. Still less expensive than buying a "spares" pedal with a worn out spring..
