If you need some large bass drum type lugs I have 5 left....3 are pretty good, 2 are usable, but far from mint. I'd use them on the bottom of a bass drum if I was gonna use them. I also have an 18" 8 lug hoop in decent shape. Let me know if you are interested.....
Replacement Parts for Ludwig Set
Thanks for the offer ludwig-dude, I will let you know if I can use those lugs.
This kit is consuming me! LOL!
I have so many ideas rolling around in my head, as I am sure you all do about kits you are involved with, welcome to the club, right?
I am definitely not going to be buying classic lugs at $8 a pop, that is for sure. I figure I will try to find some cheaper ones, I do believe I saw some for $2-$3 per lug. Your idea mjcnic about putting the "in bad shape" lugs on the bottom of the bass drum/toms, etc is a very good idea, but being that I am consumed with details, knowing there are bad lugs down there would probably drive me nuts!!! LOL! See how finiky I can be?
I have pretty much determined that I am not going to get the entire kit done in one whack. I pretty decided I am going to get all the drums finished first and then restore the bass drum, snare, floor and two toms for now and work on the other toms a little bit at a time, money providing. Spreading the cost out won't be so hard to handle as doing it all at once. My kit will slowly grow into the Phil Collins kit as the months go by. I still need to add some more cymbals, stands, new throne, etc.
I did go to about three music stores today and had no luck with any Ludwig hardware there.
I also went to Lowe's and they did not have any screws that matched the inside screws for my drums. Does anyone have the correct measurements of the screws inside the toms or where to buy the screws?
