Replacement muffler pad for Supraphonic?

Loading...

I recently picked up a late '70s Ludwig Supraphonic snare in excellent condition, with one problem: the black felt pad on the internal muffler is almost completely gone - it looks like someone tried to tear the felt off at some point (for what purpose, I have no idea.) There's just a small thin scrap of felt still attached to the metal disc that presses it up against the head.

Does anyone know if there are replacement felt pads available anywhere? I suppose I could improvise something, but I doubt I'd be able to cut it into a perfect enough circle to make it look right.

Any suggestions appreciated!

I recently used a cymbal washer. They are round, and have the hole in them so it is easy to line up. Used rubber cement, put a little pressure onit, and it works perfectly.
