Removing wrap

Great job, OsakaBop! If I'd ever consider rewrapping something, WMP would be my 1st choice as well.

It's a nice idea at a 6 lugger bass drums, to start lugs in the middle on top of the shell!

But isn't the snare drum (in position of a rack tom) too close to the bass drum reso - I mean the inconvenient position for the right foot at the pedal?

Although: that's a really space-saving solution.

Thanks- but I don't want to jump this nice thread with my stuff! Your Slingerland is the star here.

But just to answer Ralf's comment, on the back side of the bass drum I moved the lug position- taking out one at 6 o'clock and installing two - one at 5 o'clock and one at 7 o'clock- this let's me mount the bass pedal or bass pedal riser. This is a travel kit for when I have play cafe shows and take the subways around Osaka. The snare is not true-dead-center where you'd normally place it but is comfortable enough for free style jazz or R&B playing- it works well enough. I don't want to carry any more stands than absolutely necessary. This kit needs only throne, hihat stand, L-rod cymbal arm and tom mount and FT legs. Guitar Dude Man

This shot might give you a better idea of the position- it doesn't interfere with the leg work at all

Nice maple under the wrap! Be sure to get all the glue off or a stain won't go on evenly it'll look blochy.

Believe it or not! That is Mahogany. The lighting makes it look like maple.

To remove the adhesive off of the shell, There is a solvent called Xylene you can get from Home Depot or Lowes. It works 100 times beter than Acetone. You can rub on it till you have tennis elbow or soak a rag with it and lay it on the shell for a bit then it will rub right off. Be sure your in the garage with the door open or completly outside. Also be sure you lay your solvent soaked rags out flat and not wadded up to let the rags dry. Wadded up solvent soaked rags can very easliy cause spontainous combustion! This is a real fact....We but it buy 5 gallon pails at my shop, because we use lots of contact adhesive and it will not harm the paint on a car
