Anything special I should consider when removiing a wood veneer from a floor tom that I want to rewrap? Are there any issues I should be concerned about as disctinct from removing an old wrap from a shell?

Any insights appreciated.

I believe the veneer is factory applied. But I am piecing together a kit from various sources and want to rewrap all the drums. I just wasn't sure if there were specific issues related to the adhesives used on veneers, or some concern that removing a veneer was more likely to cause problems with damaging the shell, etc.

If its factory appied veneer you should just strip the finish off down to bare wood. Just make sure the thickness of the new wrap will not cause problems with heads fitting.

Thank you!
