removing old wrap

Loading...

Hello, I have a 60's Ludwig mahogany shell with a really faded wrap. I bought it for a project. What can I use on it to remove the wrap and not hurt the structure of this old shell? Thanks for your help, Paul

Not sure of Ludwig structure, but have used a heat gun (actually large wattage hair dryer) and wide putty knife to remove Rogers warp. It was some of the older formica type wrap and it took a while.

Goodf luck. Best advice is don't rush. Can't undo a bad gouge or splintered shell.

Is the wrap going into the wood ply's?

That will be a little problem to correct if you are not going to put on another wrap...
