Removing Ludwig Baseball Bat muffler.

Loading...

Well I'll more than likely be here alot, lol. Ive started the clean up on my '65 Super Classic's WMP. First hurdle, How do you get the baseball bat muffler handle out? I've got it down to the bracket and I do not want to force anything so I come here for advise. Help!

This floor tom more then likely is the worst off. I believe I'm the first to open it up, original heads. A little rust on the hardware inside. Thanks in advance.

As I recall, it's all on normal nuts & screws, just have a close look and you'll see in what order to take it apart. Be careful to note exactly where each washer, screw, nut and spring goes.

like bermuda mentioned, they are pretty straightforward. but, i will add this. after getting aggrevated with a couple during restorations, i now leave them on the shell when i am doing a resto. i just work around them. no big deal.

You do have to force it a bit, spray a little lube in there & twist it off.

The threads on the end are a little larger & further apart, and for good reason, who'd want that piece coming unscrewed & bouncin' around in there!

It'll go back on just fine.

Got it off, all's good. I do have other questions. First think I should start a thread for each question? or start a thread for the whole project?
