Remove wrap in WFL scarf joint?

Loading...

I rewrapped a clubdate 12" tom and left the original silver sparkle in there. Clamped a metal t square to the shell, cut it evenly and started the new wrap there.

I've seen plenty of home stained ludwigs that have a huge gap in the joint from people digging the wrap out.

Two things drums don't come back from are prolonged exposure to fire or water!

I like Drums...

1964 Leedy (Slingerland) Blue n Silver Duco
1964 Ludwig Club Date Sparkling Silver Pearl

1972 Slingerland 85N Pop outfit Light Blue Pearl
1976 Ludwig Vistalite clear

I've got one of these right now in the project pile. 8x12 Ludwig Club Date tom. Guess they just had to remove the wrap in the joint. Stained the shell in mahogany and shellac. Beautiful drum. But I don't like the fact that it was pried apart.
