Remo Renaissance VS. Fiberskyn

Loading...

Hey all, I am just reposting this in hopes of some more feedback (only 1 answer in the "general" subcatagory)

I have been a Remo coated ambassador guy for quite some time, but am currently restoring a 1951 Leedy & Ludwig kit, and was thinking about going for something a little more calf-like.

I have never used either the Renaissance nor Fiberskyn and would like to hear some feedback as to the differences, positive/negative aspects of these heads.

Any help (that can't regularlly be found on Remo's website) would be greatly appreciated.

I have been using the fiberskyns for about a year. They are pretty warm, don't need any muffling at all. I really liked them at first. Real jazzy.

I've used the Renaissance heads and love them. Especially on toms. (I have a '62 Ludwig kit.)

I've been meaning to try the fiberskyns...

Both are an excellent alternative.

Depending on the kit, snare or application

I love 'em.

Using Renaissance Ambs top and bottom on

an ultra thin 6-ply Walnut snare just now.

Dark, Warm and Dry.

2 out of 3...

I think you'll be happier with Fiberskyn heads on the WFL's...

Ok, went with the Fiberskyns, and damn those babies sound good! I'll get some pics of the (99%) completed WMP L &L kit here soon!
