red sparkle Ludwig drums and wrap

Loading...

I've got a few 60's and 70's Ludwig red sparkle kits. None of which have a 24 kick drum. I wanna get a used 24 from the same era and have it re-wrapped. Where would be the best place to get matching wrap?

Or better yet, anyone selling a 24 ludwig in red sparkle?

You may want to bide your time on this one-it's not that uncommon to find red sparkle marching drums on Ebay, which would give you a chance at a possible virgin bass, except for strap loops.

Precision Drum, drummaker.com, and Jammin' Sam all sell red sparkle wrap. You can get them to send samples and pick the closest match (though I believe they all get their wrap from the same supplier, so it should probably look the same from all three places).

Kits:
1950s Gretsch Name Band in Midnight Blue Pearl (13/16/22/14sn)
1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)

Don't know if this helps you or not, but this seller has some red sparkle wrap s/he is claiming is new old stock vintage. The photos are not-so good, so I can't tell exactly what they have. Maybe someone will ask the seller for more photos?

I would definately get samples from all 3 places. I ordered Gold Glass Glitter samples from both Jammin' Sam and Precision, the samples were entirely different. Sam's was darker with smaller chips, while Precisions was lighter with larger chips.
