Recent Ludwig Aquisition

Hi all... This is my first post here so be gentle!

I'm a huge fan of old Ludwigs... I own and gig a 68 Blue Sparkle Downbeat kit with a 5x14 Supra.

I recently acquired the drums pictured below which have 80's Keystone Badges but still say Chicago on them. The whole kit is 12, 13, 16, 22 in Natural Maple finish. I believe they are six ply shells. I've cleaned them up nicely but they still need some work, I need to replace some T-rods on the bass drum as some of them are a bit stripped, there is one cracked lug receiver and some other minor odds and ends. Otherwise they sound great, Look really cool. The finish is very weather checked / crazed and has really darkened over time giveing them a nice warm glow.

Can anybody tell me more about these? Approx value perhaps? I do have the 13x9 tom and the tom mount as well... all in fine condition. When exactly did Ludwig stop making drums in Chicago?

Thanks for your help!

I am a sucker for natural wood finish. Those a purty!! Personally I don't consider 1980's "vintage" but those look real nice.

Yeah - I guess 80's might not really be "vintage"... But I don't see many kits like this these days - they were collecting dust in a friend's basement. Seemed like a good players / packed for gigs kit.

29 years old, I think they would qualify for vintage. They look great!

nice looking kit, natural finish is timeless,I think the last kits made in chicago 82 83 or around there,They are traditional sizes so I think that is a plus, value I would guess 600.00 800.00 depending on condition?
