re wrap dilemma.

Loading...

looking to see what you forum guys would do.

i've a 1960 ludwig set thats already been professionally re wrapped in the mid 80's it's a dark blue pearl colour.

I've never 100% loved the colour and i'm gonna re wrap it, i think this year.

my dilemma is ....

A. will it make much value difference, as it's not got it's original wrap already.

B. what wrap to use?

I've two choices i love the black oyster pearl ,and green sparkle.

looking through the colour swatches both colours were available in 1960 so could use both.

are the modern BOP wraps nice quality?

what's your fave colour of the two?

over to you....

The only thing that will hurt you at this point is a bad job.

Go for it. Blue pearl was NOT a standard pearl color available back then, if memory serves...so, actually...either of your choices are better than what's there now.

If you go for Black Oyster, why not go for the 60's style BOP....Precision has it now and it is MUCH better looking than the current style BOP that Ludwig offers on the classic maple series. Matter of fact they just re-introduced it on the new Liverpool 4 kit.

Go GREEN!! That's the latest craze after all.

I think it was Ploughman that posted a pick a while back of a little green sparkle kit that he had put together... oh man it looked great!

It will be a fun project either way.Jump For Joy

Here's one I did a couple of years ago that used to be a vintage white pearl.....the wrap had split and was growing wings so I needed to do something.....
