Thanks for the vote of confidence. But if anyone ever tacked a head like I've been doing it would be purely by coincidence I'm sure haha. I just thought 'how the heck am I going to do this?' and put together something that worked. I am pretty sure it was not done like this 'back in the day.'

Basically you have to be able to have the drum set up so you can pull the head down evenly all around and tie it off while you tack it in place. I could not find anything out there on the internet on how to tack a drum head....other than the Japanese Taiko drums. They use a foot pedal divice that pushes the drum shell up into the head and holds it in place while it's tacked = pretty cool system but way out of my league.....for now.
