Re-living my youth

LOL!!! I hear ya. Now I never got the dry ice thing going, but yeah... I rocked out and saw myself on stage in huge arena's.

I got into Rush long after I started drumming and while I can totally appreciate Peart's chops, his playing made less of an impact on me compared to guys like Ringo, Richard Bailey, Narada Michael Walden and Simon Phillips.

I guess I'm in it for the groove, not the flash.

I'm fairly certain though that my dad gave me "that look" many, many times when I was younger - LOL!!

That is SOOOOOOO me!!! Exactly how I play the drums!!! I usually hit one note for every fifteen or twenty in Tom Sawyer and for Teenage Wasteland, I just try to time the 250 crash cymbal hits. I am gettin decent at Paradise City until it gets super fast at the end for like a minute and a half. Then I try to choke my son out when he tells me that he cannot recognize one single song that I "play". It is actually probably good that I saw that clip, I now know what my wife/kids are looking at!!D' Drummer

Tom Sawyer was a benchmark song when I was "a kid". If you could play it, nearly note for note, you were considered a drum god. I guess I was more of a drum demi-god, cause I couldn't even come close.

Of course, you needed a seriously HUGE kit to even attempt anything by Peart. I never had more than maybe a 6 piece back then.

Oh well... Maybe I'll bid on Neil's Slingy kit up on eBay and redeem myself.

Yeah. going for what a cool thirteen grand? I'd rather buy a kit for a thousand and hit the casino with the other twelve to be totally honest!!

You missed the point drumhack.....its a true collectors piece......to own a set of drums actually owned by a very well known drummer? If I could get Ringo's ACTUAL drums, or Bonham's ACTUAL drums, or Nick Mason's ACTUAL drums....well you get the idea. Its an investment. Where's the investment in blowing money at the casino?

I saw that kit in the RnR HoF. It was pretty neat. The place honestly bored me, but the drum displays were pretty cool. That kit was one of the highlights.

The Who!!!!

I'd love to own one of those, but wish they had used the classic Premier lugs instead of the modern ones. Moonie is still one of my favs.....

I've got a Who bootleg Live at Fillmore East, April 6,1968. Sound is great.

I still rock with the headphones to Summertime Blues and Shakin' All over.

Entwhistle lays down such a groove it's easy to jam along. Makes me feel 18 again.
