Ray McKinley Snare Drum Question Last viewed: 5 minutes ago

I have what I believe via web research is a McKinley Ludwig snare in all respects EXCEPT some pictures I see on the web include a tone control knob/muffler knob. Mine does not have the knob. Does this matter or disqualify it from being a McKinley or did they make them with and without?

1967 Ludwig WMP Club Date + 16" FT + cannister throne
1992 Ludwig Classic 6 piece Mahogany Stain + 8", 14" & 18"
2004 Ludwig Black Beauty 6.5", brass fittings
90th Ludwig Anniversary Top Hat & Cane 5" SD
1948 WFL Ludwig Super Classic WMP 6" SD
1970's Fibes 22", 16", 12" rewrap Top Hat & Cane

The tone control was an option.

Thank you very much. I feel better to know it was an option and could not find that in the online literature I checked. Case closed!

My 1948 model does have a twin pad muffler. As already mentioned it was an option.
