For some reason i cannot post the pictures on this site, if you email me at chrjlsmith681@yahoo.com I would send you some pictures of the drum and maybe you could tell me what it might be worth.

there are pictures of my drum on ebay, just go to rare snare drums and you will see it, it is the only deri drum there and i think it is the only deri drum anywhere that is why i think it is so rare, i cannot find another one anywhere in the US. So if anyone is interested in seeing pictures of the drum that is where you can find them.

Yes, I see the drum now. I think it is early postwar. There was an entire kit on ebay.de for sale about a year ago, in the same wrap and with the same lugs, hoops and badge. It was a late '40's kit. I think it sold for about 1200.00 but it was an almost mint 4 piece kit , with hardware ,a parallel strainer snare -------in Germany!

Deri made a range of drums. The premium range had 8 tensioners per head on the snare drums, with parallel snare mechanism and muffler . An excellent example of such a Deri snaredrum , from the late 40's , completely functional and clean would be worth no more than about 300.00, if you could find a buyer and there would be not too much interest because the brand is not well known here and commands little interest.

Your drum is a mid or student grade drum. It has 6 lugs and a conventional throwoff, I suspect. I can't really see the throwoff, from the pictures but it certainly isn't parallel. I hope it still has one. A drum of this nature is worth about 175.00, tops, if complete and fully functional.

It would help, if you provided clearer and more varied pictures. A prospective buyer , needs to see more details in order to spark an interest.
