Rare slingerland kits for sale

Peacock Bass 138829,floor 194877,tom 164367[/QUOTE]

Chocolate milk interiors is expected with the serials you provided. Those serials are approx. '67, '68 and '68 respectively with quite a spread. The chocolate milk interiors did not appear until late '66. The interesting detail is that the Sparkling Peacock wrap was last cataloged in '63. Hence the question of a re-wrap. It is not impossible that Slingerland wrapped these in '67-'68 with left over material but one would expect the serials to be much closer on a custom order such as this. More pictures are needed.

saxman, your Peacock kit is quite an enigma. Per DrCJW Sparkling Peacock wrap was available '60-'63. Your drums are '67-'68 per badges & serials, chocolate milk interiors, large tone control knobs, angled floor tom legs etc. The wrap and seams look correct in pictures. The Rodgers cymbal mount is obviously non-original and the two bolt consolette on the bass drum is inconsistent with a '67 build. It should be a 4-bolt design. These factors as well as the serial number spread may negatively impact value to some buyers/collectors. Good luck with sale and thanks for posting here.

thank you for the input...I took the Bass drum apart and there are no holes plugged on the rail mount so i have to assume it is original..I have been trading vintage saxes for 50 years and I have seen exceptions in many different makers and models...

Other than the fact Slingerland stopped using the 2 bolt consolette in '64 it appears correct. Your set is definitely an exception to several rules. Hopefully some of the Slingy experts will weigh in on this set. Regardless, value is probably still negatively impacted without more provenance. Nice looking kit though.

Thanks for posting the Ebay link.

I read your shipping comments, and for this outfit I would be shipping in separate boxes.

As a buyer, I would insist on that.

Great outfit, and best wishes on the sale...!!

Peacocks $1295 plus shipping and $1295 for Fiestas plus shipping...I can bubble them individually into 1 24X24X24 box...I consider these fair prices since the Peacocks have an added Rogers cymbal mount on Bass and the Fiesta Bass hoops were stripped and the rail mount moved...pete
