Beautiful and rare Slingerland Artist model from the early '30s in white marine pearl with Full Dress sparkle diamonds.

This is the short lived model when Slingerland switched from using the tone flange and started using an early version of the Todd tone control (different than the common tone control used from the Radio King era on into the '60s.)

The drum is in very nice used condition. The sparkle diamonds are still pretty vibrant. The nickel plating is very shiny...there are some scratches on the hoops.

The shell is (I think) thick solid maple. All the parts are there and original including an early version of the 3 pt. strainer. All the tension rods look original as do the clips (some clips may have been replaced, but they all look the same to me).

Only two very minor issues. The tone control is there but it doesn't work properly...I think a tiny piece on the inside of it is broken, (not that you're going to gig with this drum...)

The two diamonds by the butt side had small pieces of the gold broken off or split. The missing piece was repaired with pearl from the bass drum that came with this, so it's a perfect match and you may not have even noticed it.

Selling some of my "keepers" to pay an unexpected tax bill. Not looking for trades. I know the price is high, but it's a rare and special drum and I think worth it to a collector.
