Radio King Lug variance

Loading...

Hi guys!

I have a question about the small beaver tail lugs. I just got my second radio king (ebay find) and this one said to be all original excluding the strainer handle. Its got the calf heads and original wires etc....But, the lugs have two small design differences. One has a smooth end where it meets the shell at the top of the lug, the other has more of a lip. My WMP has all the same lugs with the lip. The BDP has a mix of the two. Is this something Slingerland did much like the badges when phasing out an old style for a new one, whoever was building the drum would just grab out of a mixed pile?

will try to shrink down pics, but here is a link to a Facebook post about all this with pics.

Yes they did have a change design wise as you've noted.
