Thats what happened today on Craigs ..

Guy had a circa 1967 Slinger 20,12,13,16 and some snare/throne for $200 in Red Sparkle!

Called a buddy near there, and when he got there, was told someone offered $300 sight unseen..(unseen in person, anyway). There was a pic online.

My friend DID get a 22" A and Pearl cymbal stand for $100 from the guy though...said the A is real nice too!

That happens all the time and I wish some would cut it out. I replied to an ad for two snares, a Green Sparkle Trans Badge Ludwig and a Rogers WMP Powertone both early 60's. The gal had listed them for $35 each, by the time I got there I was bid up to $100 ea. I matched it with cash in hand and brought them home but I was first and there at the $35. it was a nice pick.

Sheesh! You guys should come to Portland, where you can find a NOS 22" 50s K ride for $75, and people won't even come out to see it unless you would let it go for $40...

1965 Ludwig Hollywood

My friend said the guy selling it was a young guy who thought the kit was from the 80's!

I could see in the pic the alumium (sp?) mounts,so that puts it at 1967,right?

Yes. I believe Slingerland did use the bare aluminum at first when these mounts came out(63-64). I may be wrong about the years but these were the earliest one .

Bill from CVD bought them when i was on the phone with the guy.

guy was in FL i'm near Chicago.

i offered him $3,000 and told him i'd come get them.

If you are talking about the Set-o-matic, those weren't chrome in 1969.
