"61 Ludwig Galaxy Pioneer

this is my second Ludwig pioneer in galaxy. this has the very uncommon large pioneer p85 strainer that was short lived. this one is very vivid with no color loss. even has the blue sparkles in it that are not in all galaxy wraps. November 16 1961 date stamp,resacote interior with 3/4" round knob muffler. original wires.

Hey Mike, love the wrap with the blue sparkles mixed in. Have you found out anything about those? Had to be a one-off batch of wrap they used before going back to the regular BG. So strange with all the blue in there.

Wrong! Those black lacquer drums are fairly rare and always sell for a premium when they do come up for sale. That's a really nice snare you have, (I prefer 8 luggers myself,) but it's a great 'players drum' nonetheless.
