QUICK HELP!! Should I buy this 602??

OK, I need your advice guys!

I have an opportunity to buy this 16" Paiste Formula 602 crash for 25 dollars. Reason why the price is so low is that it has small crack near the edge. It has been drilled. But I know how prone to cracking these cymbals are so I am asking you whether you think the crack will reappear even if I cut it out (I already learned that simple drilling usually doesn't do the job)? Do you think the cymbal will still sound good? I know that 25 bucks isn't much, but I want to save myself the trouble and pain of being the one who finally brings this awesome instrument to it's grave. What do you think?

For $25?

Buy it ... and cut the crack out in a smooth -- very smooth and rounded and symmetrical -- U shape. That section will now always be the lightest part of the cymbal and hence always be furthest from the striking area.

If it sounds like garbage after the repair, well, you spent $25 on a cymbal repair lesson/experiment. If it sounds fine, it may well hold up and make you very happy. (Besides, with an expert-looking repair, you'll look like a passionate artist who loves his cymbal and knows what he's doing.) If it eventually gives out, well then you got both a cymbal repair lesson *and* a good-sounding 602 crash (for a time) for 25 bucks.

What's the downside?

Thanks for all the advice! I e-mailed the seller about an hour after he put up the ad, but he did not respond. Apparently, somebody else didn't hesitate like me.
