Quick advice needed please!!

I just came across a used Premier Artist Birch kit, in the Jazz 20 sizes.

10" x 8" Tom, 12" x 9" Tom, 14" x 14" Floor, 20" x 16" Bass, 14" x 5.5" Snare.

They are in pretty good shape (some snare rash, a scratch or two, etc...) in the Sapphire Blue lacquer finish (yummmm... blue).

Just the basic shell pack - No extra hardware.

Is $290.00 a decent price for this kit??? I found one reference in the US to a new kit selling for $1,300.00 (rock sizes)

and another in the UK (jazz sizes) selling for roughly the same price (converted pounds to dollars).

Has anyone here played them? How was the sound?

IMHO, I think its a very good price. I have not played the Artist but I have played the XPK in Bop sizes - 18 kick but toms the same sizes as yours. Very punchy and nice sounding. To me Premier FAST tom sizes are superior to their power sizes. The snare alone is probably worth $150 to $200. Its a yes for me.
